		<Abstract>&lt;strong&gt;Background and aim: &lt;/strong&gt;Multiple myeloma (MM) is a plasma cell neoplasm characterized by the proliferation of terminally differentiated B lymphoid cells, producing monoclonal antibodies and significant end-organ damage. It is the second most common hematological malignancy after lymphoma, resulting in considerable morbidity and mortality. This study aimed to explore MM&#039;s clinical and laboratory characteristics in a specific region with limited resource settings, emphasizing the importance of early detection and intervention.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Material and methods: &lt;/strong&gt;The present study was performed from January 2019 to June 2022 in a tertiary healthcare facility. A detailed clinical history was recorded. Various laboratory parameters were assessed. Diagnosis was established using the criteria provided by the International Myeloma Working Group (IMWG) and the World Health Organization (WHO). The staging of the patients was conducted according to the Durie-Salmon staging system and CRAB criteria. Prognostic factors were assessed using the ISS system.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Results: &lt;/strong&gt;Fifty-four newly diagnosed cases were studied. The results reinforced that MM primarily affects the middle-aged and elderly, particularly males. Common clinical presentations included generalized weakness, pallor, and renal dysfunction, while anemia and thrombocytopenia were frequently observed. Bone marrow analysis revealed a high percentage of plasma cells, with most cases categorized as Durie-Salmon stage III.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Conclusions: &lt;/strong&gt;This research contributes to a better understanding of MM&#039;s clinical and laboratory characteristics. Further research and collaborative efforts involving larger cohorts and current staging systems are recommended for deeper insights into this complex hematological malignancy, ultimately improving patient care and outcomes.</Abstract>

		<Abstract>&lt;strong&gt;Background and aim: &lt;/strong&gt;Oral mucositis occurs in almost 90% of Head and Neck cancer patients receiving radiotherapy.  Zinc L carnosine, the chelation of zinc with carnosine, is beneficial for oral mucosal ulcers due to its antioxidant properties.  It also causes increased mucous production, which helps repair the injury.  The pain in oral mucositis can be addressed with the help of a local anesthetic agent, lignocaine hydrochloride.  The objective was to study the efficacy of ZINOBLISS (Zinc Carnosine 2% and lignocaine HCl 2%) for managing oral mucositis and stomatitis.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Material and methods: &lt;/strong&gt;It was an open-label, multicentric, parallel-group interventional clinical trial.  The total number of patients included in the study was 45 (each group was 15).  Arm 1 included topical administration of Zinobliss (Zinc Carnosine 2% and Lignocaine HCl 2% Gel) thrice daily for ten days or until healing, whichever was earlier.  Similarly, Arm 2 and Arm 3 included topical administration of Hexigel (Chlorhexidine Gluconate Gel) and Zytee- L (Gel containing Choline Salicylate, Lignocaine Hydrochloride, and Benzalkonium Chloride solution), respectively, thrice daily for ten days or until healing whichever was earlier.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Results: &lt;/strong&gt;The accelerated healing response in subjects treated with Zinobliss by day 4, compared to Hexigel and Zytee L, took 7 to 10 days.  Zinobliss treatment did not necessitate any modifications to the subject&#039;s diet plans.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Conclusions: &lt;/strong&gt;Zinobliss is a highly effective and well-tolerated treatment option for oral mucositis and stomatitis.</Abstract>

		<Abstract>&lt;strong&gt;Background and aim: &lt;/strong&gt;Healthcare workers, including dentists, are at risk of contracting and transmitting infectious diseases despite the availability of vaccines and clear guidelines on preventive measures. In Georgia, hepatitis B, influenza, measles, and rubella are mandatory preventive immunizations for medical personnel employed in dental clinics.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Material and methods: &lt;/strong&gt;This cross-sectional study aimed to explore the knowledge and attitudes of dentists towards vaccination against these diseases. A questionnaire was administered to a selective group of 165 dentists randomly selected from the 2,435 certified dentists with active status in Georgia.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Results: &lt;/strong&gt;The study found that while most dentists were aware of the mandatory vaccines, there were knowledge gaps regarding the potential severe complications of these diseases and the effectiveness of vaccination. Most dentists had positive attitudes towards vaccination, but a significant proportion reported concerns about the safety and efficacy of vaccines.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Conclusions: &lt;/strong&gt;The study highlights the need for continuing education and awareness-raising initiatives among dentists regarding the importance of vaccination against infectious diseases, which could inform future policies and educational programs in dentistry, with the ultimate goal of reducing the transmission of infectious diseases among healthcare workers and patients.</Abstract>

		<Abstract>&lt;strong&gt;Background and aim: &lt;/strong&gt;Hypertension, linked to lifestyle factors, is increasing among adolescents, particularly overweight and obese adolescents. Early detection is crucial to reducing disability and premature death. Moreover, most research is conducted in developed countries, leaving little information for the Indian context. Thus, this study aims to investigate the link between adolescent obesity and hypertension to address this knowledge gap.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Material and methods: &lt;/strong&gt;A cross-sectional study of 600 school-going adolescents was conducted, collecting sociodemographic information and measuring blood pressure thrice. Body Mass Index (BMI) was categorized using Asian cut-off points, while blood pressure was classified according to the National High Blood Pressure Educational Program guidelines. The data was expressed in percentages and proportions, with a p-value less than 0.05 considered significant.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Results: &lt;/strong&gt;Among the adolescents, 68% were categorized as underweight. Notably, the prevalence of hypertension increased dramatically from 7% in underweight to 36% in obese adolescents. BMI was found to account for 16% of the variability in Systolic Blood Pressure (SBP) (R2 = 0.157) and 6% of the variability in Diastolic Blood Pressure (DBP) (R2 = 0.06). Furthermore, a significant positive correlation was observed between blood pressure (SBP and DBP) and BMI (p &lt; 0.001).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Conclusions: &lt;/strong&gt;The study reveals a strong link between BMI and blood pressure levels, with higher BMIs increasing hypertension prevalence, especially concerning SBP. It underscores the need for continuous monitoring and proactive BMI management in adolescents to prevent and address blood pressure-related issues.</Abstract>

		<Abstract>&lt;strong&gt;Background and aim: &lt;/strong&gt;The renal pelvicalyceal system consists of the renal pelvis and the two groups of calyces – the major and the minor. Wide variations in the formation of this system have been reported earlier. The study aimed to provide a clear picture of the morphology as well as the anatomical variations associated with the human renal pelvicalyceal system in the Northeast Indian population that can help to minimize injuries and complications associated with various surgical and radiological interventions in this region.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Material and methods: &lt;/strong&gt;The study was conducted on 160 formalin-fixed specimens collected after dissection from adult and perinatal cadavers above 36 weeks of age. All the specimens were numbered accordingly, and piecemeal dissection was done.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Results: &lt;/strong&gt;The study showed a predominance of the intrarenal pelvis, with the bicalyceal arrangement of major calyces being more than the tricameral pattern. 89.37% of specimens showed normal patterns as described by standard textbooks and authors of previous studies. Meanwhile, 10.62% of specimens had unusual variations, mainly on the right side. These include the absent pelvis, bifid pelvis, absent major calyx, mega calyx, elongated superior calyx, thick major calyx, four major calyx, and dilated calyces. The most commonly occurring variation was absent major calyx (3.75%), followed by absent pelvis (2.5%) and megacalyx (2.3%).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Conclusions: &lt;/strong&gt;The study showed that the renal pelvicalyceal system exhibits various variations. 		<Abstract>&lt;strong&gt;Background and aim:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt; &lt;/strong&gt;Considering the importance of early detection of breast cancer and the use of non-invasive methods, the present study was conducted to evaluate the role of exosome-derived miRNA in breast cancer diagnosis.
&lt;strong&gt;Material and methods: &lt;/strong&gt;In the present systematic review and meta-analysis, information about exosome-derived miRNA in breast cancer diagnosis in all articles published up until the end of July 2023 was collected by two trained researchers individually using keywords and combinations of keywords from databases PubMed, Scopus, Science Direct, ISI, Web of Knowledge, Elsevier, Wiley, and Embase and Google Scholar. STATA (version 17) was used to analyze data using the fixed effects model in meta-analysis; p values less than 0.05 were considered significant.
&lt;strong&gt;Results:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt; &lt;/strong&gt;A total of six studies were included in the meta-analysis process. The sensitivity and specificity of plasma-based exosomal miRNAs were 68% (ES, 95% CI: 0.39, 0.97) and 82% (ES, 95% CI: 0.52, 1.11), respectively. The sensitivity and specificity of serum-based exosomal miRNAs were 67% (ES, 95% CI: 0.33, 1.01) and 88% (ES, 95% CI: 0.54, 1.22), respectively.
&lt;strong&gt;Conclusions:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt; &lt;/strong&gt;Exosomal miRNAs have high sensitivity and specificity in breast cancer diagnosis and can be considered a valuable and promising tool for early detection of breast cancer non-invasively.</Abstract>

		<Abstract>&lt;strong&gt;Background and aim:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt; &lt;/strong&gt;Interim restorations are one of the important steps in placing fixed dental prostheses. Their mechanical and biological properties should be checked, and they should also be checked in terms of aesthetics. The current investigation aims to ascertain the impact of ZrO2 nanoparticle addition on the flexural strength of acrylic resins when utilized for interim fixed restorations.
&lt;strong&gt;Material and methods:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt; &lt;/strong&gt;Using search terms associated with the study&#039;s goals, all worldwide databases, including PubMed, Science Direct, Scopus, ISI, and Embase, as well as Web of Knowledge, were investigated till May 2023. The fixed effect model and inverse-variance methodology have been utilized to get a confidence interval of 95% for mean differences. The meta-analysis has been carried out with Stata/MP v.17 software.
&lt;strong&gt;Results:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt; &lt;/strong&gt;The original review, which also examined the abstracts of 95 papers, was cleaned up of duplicate research. Two writers carefully assessed sixteen papers, and four studies were ultimately chosen. The mean difference in flexural strength between 0.5-ZrO2 and the control group was 24.07 (MD; 95 CI (20.72, 27.42), p&lt;0.05). The 5-ZrO2 group had the lowest value of flexural strength, which was 0.14 (MD=0.14; 95 CI (-2.51, 2.80), p&gt;0.05). The PMMA pristine interim restorative material&#039;s flexural strength values were dramatically enhanced by the addition of ZrO2 (2.5 wt%) (MD=5.03; 95 CI (2.65, 7.14), p&lt;0.05).
&lt;strong&gt;Conclusions:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt; &lt;/strong&gt;The highest flexural strength value was related to specimens reinforced with 0.5, 1, and 2.5-wt% ZrO2 nanoparticles.</Abstract>

		<Abstract>&lt;strong&gt;Background and aim: &lt;/strong&gt;MicroRNAs can be considered as a predictor or cause of breast cancer.  The present study was conducted to evaluate MiR-513a-5p&#039;s impacts on progesterone receptor protein expression in breast cancer cells.
&lt;strong&gt;Material and methods: &lt;/strong&gt;The present study was based on the PRISMA 2020-27-item checklist.  By giving the keywords microRNAs, breast cancer, MiR-513a-5p, progesterone, all articles available in the international databases, PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus, Science Direct, Web of Knowledge, EBSCO, Wiley, ISI, Elsevier, Embase databases and Google Scholar search engine were reviewed until August 2023.  STATA/MP.  V17 software was used in this meta-analysis.
&lt;strong&gt;Results: &lt;/strong&gt;Three articles were included in the present study.  MiR-513a-5p upregulation was directly and statistically significantly associated with breast cancer risk (OR = 1.45; 95% CI 1.07–1.83; P&lt;0.01).
&lt;strong&gt;Conclusions: &lt;/strong&gt;The results of the present study can affect different aspects of breast cancer development.  The use and identification of miR-513-a-5p as a long-term biomarker to identify the pathways involved in the early development of breast cancer should be considered.</Abstract>
